A note from Master Blend Cattle Co’s part-owner, operator, and head cook:

 

My name is Jacob VanWagner, and I believe that cooking is a cornerstone to a life well-lived.

Why?

  • It’s a moment to set aside distractions in favor of reality, engaging all of the five senses.

  • It’s an outlet for creativity and sharing that creativity.

  • It’s a way to express care for others, and just as importantly, for yourself.

On this page, I’m compiling notes and recipes from the lessons I’ve learned in the Master Blend Cattle Co. test kitchen over the years. Beef, of course, is going to be a big part of what happens here, but there’ll be other things too, including some basic tips and tricks and recipes for Saturday’s store-morning delicacies.
